BULLETIN AND SUMMON OF MEETING, November 16, 2013

Message from the East - WB Rogelio C. Nuñeza

Brethren, may the blessing of the Great Architect of the Universe be always upon us.

Our stated meeting for this month will be on November 16, 2013.  Our masonic education speaker will be VW Steven So, PDDGM, who just arrived from a business tour in Vietnam.  He will talk about the importance of the Bible in the life of a Mason.

For the past four months, we had our district activities led by different lodges each month.  The final leg of our "Walk for Your Health" district activity was held last Sunday, October 27, 2013 and it was led by our lodge.  The same route was followed although there was sporadic rainfall to remind us of the upcoming Christmas season.  The participants were brethren from the different lodges, sisters from the Order of the Amaranth, sisters from the Order of the Eastern Star, DeMolays, Jobs Daughters, friends of Masons and dependents of Masons.  It was a great success!  My salute to the Junior Warden led by Bro. Pat Noel for the well-prepared food, a combination of merienda and breakfast.  Thank you brethren for all your support.  Our next district activity will be the hosting of the Western Mindanao Convention, WESMINCON, to be held at Ubaldo Laya Masonic Temple, Iligan City on November 28-30, 2013.  Let us all show our support by having our business establishments and offices advertised in the souvenir program.  Please pay the registration now.

November is a special month to remember our departed loved ones and brethren especially those brethren whose labor was exceptional, those that spent both time and money for the craft and Masonry.  Let us find time to visit them in their final resting places.

The 2nd anniversary of Sendong is almost upon us.  I am sure that we all remember the great help our brother Masons extended to us during our time of need.  A few days ago, some parts of the Philippines were destroyed by the Typhoon Yolanda and just as brother Masons helped us during the Typhoon Sendong, let us help our brother Masons and their families that were victimized by Yolanda.  It is during these times of tragedy that we must bond together and help each other.

On a lighter note, during my travel to Kuala Lumpur the other week, I met some brethren at the KL airport.  There goes again the old saying from the Heritage Lodge of Canada "Happy to meet, sorry to part, Happy to meet again!"
