Message from the Worshipful Master - February Stated Meeting

Greetings my brethren!

Our installation of officers last 16th of January was a success despite the time constraint in its preparation.  Again, I would like to thank and acknowledge WB Ed Ulindang, my Installing Officer, VW Fem Calio, the Master of Ceremony, and VW Gene Calit, the Assistant Master of Ceremony for their very proficient and adept performance.  The same pasalamat goes to our maestro VW Warly Sanguila and WB Vic Mariano for their instructions and guidance on the rituals.  Also, a word of thank to our guest speaker, VW Gerry Paguio for his very incisive and inspiring speech.  There are many more that I would like to acknowledge and thank, like the Ladies of Iligan Lodge 207 and the son of JW Abel Gomez for their entertainment numbers, but cannot do so due to space limitations.  Suffice it to say, thank you everyone for your generous support.  We again overshot our budget, but thanks to your abundant and kind support, financial and otherwise, and to the great effort of our collectors, Bro. Marlon Yu and Bro. Carlito Chan, we actually had a small surplus.  I have submitted a written report thereon to our Secretary Audwin Garzon, which is open to the perusal of anyone interested.

We had a fruitful planning session in my residence in Isabel Village last February 7th with VW Fem Calio as facilitator.  Among those present were VW Roy Trinidad, WB Ed Ulindang, VW Warly Sanguila, WB Vic Mariano, VW Audwin Garzon, VW James Yu, WB Ronald Sy, Bro. Pat Noel, Bro. Boy Bartolome, Bro. Jason Lim, SW Jimmy Magnetico and JW Abel Gomez.   I believe it was the first time we had one in a long, long while.   It was really a very interesting session because I learned much specially from the experience and wisdom of our past masters.  We have reproduced our output, such as, vision and mission and plans for your perusal.  It may not be perfect and needs some refinement, but I find it sufficient to give us a sense of direction and purpose during my term in the East.  My thanks to the participants.  If anyone has any suggestion to add to and/ or improve the said plans, feel free to approach.    

JW Abel Gomez will once again compete in the lambskin apron elocution contest that will be the highlight of the Grandmaster's Night on February 26, 2010 (Friday) at the Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City during the Mindanao Masonic Convention.  I strongly urge the bethren to show your support to the pride of Iligan Lodge 207.  Let us join the delegation and attend the said convention.  Show up and be counted.

At this point in time, I feel like a baby learning to walk.  I am just fortunate that there are many helping hands being extended to help me get my bearing.  Your help and patience is greatly appreciated.
