During our stated meeting last April 20, 2013, Bro. Ian Sagario was raised to the Sublime degree of Master Mason and he is now a full-blooded Mason. I would like to extend my profound thanks and gratitude to VW Warly Sanguila, our Conferral Director, WB Ed Ulindang, who acted as King Solomon and all the brethren who participated in the activity.
There was a blackout after our stated meeting but as the saying goes, "the show must go on." The Charter Day celebration that followed (dinner and program) was made more special with lighted candles and I am quite sure everybody would remember is\t, as a charter day celebration with candle-light ceremony. Masons are like army rangers sometimes, we move and meet under the cover of darkness.
The 97th Annual Communication hosted by District RVI-A was held at Central Philippine University (CPU) in Jaro, Iloilo City from April 25-27, 2013. Our lodge was represented by VW Ed Ulindang, VW Dominic Siao, WB Oskie Badelles, VW Angie Rentoy, WB Jaime Magnetico and our Senior Warden Bro. Ali Bari and yours truly. Thanks to VW Angie Rentoy for hosting a dinner for the Iligan delegation in his beautiful home at Grove Subd., Iloilo City. Congratulations to VW Ed Ulindang! He is now our DDGM. VW Voltaire Gazmin of Maranaw Lodge 111 was elected Junior Grand Warden without spending a single centavo, but of course, he is the Secretary of National Defense.
On a lighter note, our taxi driver with ANCOM sticker told us that there was also a convention one week ahead of the ANCOM in Iloilo City, but the participants were very "kuripot" since they always asked for change, even if the change is only one peso. He said that this time he noticed that participants of the ANCOM are very generous since they always say "keep the change". After that, he politely asked, "Mason kayo Sir?" I answered "Yes, keep the change."
