Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting January 21, 2023

 Message from the East

Bro. CARL IRWIN P. GARZON
Worshipful Master

Greetings Brethren!

We, Masons, get a lot out of our fraternity.  We get a chance to make new friends, do worthwhile things in our community and improve ourselves as human beings. We have opportunities for ethical, moral and spiritual growth. We have a support system in times of trouble, and we have a chance to be with other masons, do things together, and talk and share our ideas and goals.

But our families and communities get a lot out of Masonry, too.  You may not be aware of all those benefits but it's good to know them.  Sometimes they can really make a difference!

First of all, there are lodge activities for the family...
We know that a Mason's family is most important thing in our lives.  We plan activities in which the entire family can participate just like last February 15, 2023 when we celebrated the "Iligan Masonic Lodge 207 Family Day".  I truly appreciate who attended the said event and brought their Families as we had fun and successful event.

And if you ever need help...
In a strange town or a foreign city, help is as close as the nearest Mason.  All you have to do is find one.  Look for the Square and Compasses - you'll find one at the back of this brochure (or at the bottom of the page) - on a ring or pin, or look up the number of the lodge in the telephone book.  Make yourself known as the wife, son, or daughter of a Mason, and you'll get all the help that you need. Just like our lodge have all promised to give any Brethren our help.

Our City benefits too...
We do many things to make our communities better places in which to live.  It takes many pages of computer printout to list the local projects in even one city or province in which masons are involved. Such things as we have done in our lodge was clean up programs, packed foods and goods for the needy, Feeding programs for street family giving volunteer time to services for the elderly... the list go on and on.  But all these things make our city a better place for us to live.  Masons care!

That's the key - Masons care...
We care about our own development as men and Masons.  We care about our country. We care about our individual faiths. We care about the poor, the sick, the helpless, and the hopeless.

And, especially, we care about our families.  We care about our wives as independent, equal partners in life.  We care about our children, not only because they represent hope for tomorrow, but as growing or developing individuals who must be given every possible chance to be everything they can be.

As I end my term, I hope that the support and cooperation you all have shown and given will continue as our newly-elected WM Maclin Lanto set his programs and activities for the new Masonic Year 2023.

TOGETHER BRETHREN!

Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting January 18, 2020

Message from the East
Bro. TED BRYAN K. YU
Worshipful Master

Greetings Brethren!

Last December stated meeting, we have concluded a successful election of officers for Masonic Year 2020-2021.  To be led b our Worshipful Master-Elect, Bro. John Yasser Sanguila, I believe in his capabilities and leadership to lead the Lodge under which we are  a member of.  I wish nothing less but better success in his term and more activities for us, the members, to participate especially in our usual Charity works and Family gatherings.

I am looking forward to more conferral of degrees as well if the candidates will be admitted into our craft in their right time.  We really cannot distinguish a perfect candidate but as long as he believes in God and is righteous with good morals, we can always make good men better.

I would like to give my deepest appreciation to my officers of Masonic Year 2019-2020 and to all the members who have been part of my Masonic Journey as Master of the Lodge.  Without your help and participation, it wouldn't have been successful in any other way.  I am really thankful and blessed to have your support.

TOGETHER BRETHREN!
May the Great Architect of the Universe bless us all!!!

Bulletin and Summon of Regular Meeting December 21, 2019

Message from the East
Bro. TED BRYAN K. YU
Worshipful Master

Greetings Brethren!

The Masonic Year 2019-2020 is almost about to end.  The holidays is also fast approaching and lined up as one of our yearly tradition is the gift giving and feeding program to the kids confined at City Hospital's wards.  This activity will be at 10:30AM this Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the City Hospital to be followed by Lunch at Sunburst Restaurant beside the establishment.

Our brothers from the appendant body, Shriners International, headed y the incumbent President and Vice-President, Noble T. Yu and Noble Alykhan Ali, respectively, are planning on teaming up with our Lodge for the gift giving.  They will be coming up with toys and exciting clown acts to cheer up the kids at the wards.  Together, as Mason, we will make a difference this coming Holiday Season and let our community feel loved through our simple gestures.

Our elections for the officers of Masonic Year 2020-2021 will also happen this stated meeting, thereby, encouraging all the members to attend and show their support.

Moreover, I will also be presenting the proposal and study to the Iligan Lodge members for the adjustment of Annual Dues to give way and gratification to our Life Members who have been members in good standing for 25 years and up.  With this action, it will may be encourage the inactive members to go back and support our lodge or entice members from other lodges to be member of our lodge too.

See you all this Stated Meeting!

TOGETHER BRETHREN!
May the Great Architect of the Universe bless us all!

Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting November 16, 2019

Message from the East
Bro. TED BRYAN K.YU
Worshipful Master

Greetings Brethren!

Firstly, I would like to applaud Bro. John Yasser Sanguila for a job well done in conducting the stated meeting last October 2019.  My apologies to the brethren for I had important matters to attend to.

I am glad to formally invite our Brother Musa Sanguila for having been obligated as member of Iligan Masonic Lodge No. 207 last stated meeting.

Last October 24, 2019, our very own Brother Rene Tan passed away at Makati Medical Center after dauntlessly fighting cancer.  Through the efforts of the brethren, we have opened the lodge of sorrow and had planned for the 3rd  degree funeral rites for our Brother Rene Tan which happened last November 3, 2019.  we are very thankful of VW Stephen Monterroyo for leading the Funeral Rites Ceremony.

"The day's labors done, my journey's end has come.
A new guide, now lead us on.
The path may be the same, but this style, is his own.
A new post, will soon pass, another mark will be reached.
Let us all pray, he will lead us, to an even brighter day."

Holiday Season is fast approaching, brethren.  As a customary practice in our lodge, we will be having activities like feeding program, gift giving, and charity works to share our blessings and resources to the indigent and lest fortunate.

TOGETHER BRETHREN!
May the Great Architect of the Universe bless us all!

Message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte

(Delivered on the occasion of the 61st Mindanao Masonic Convention held last January 13, 2017 in Cagayan de Oro City.)

I would like to thank and congratulate you for your valuable contributions to our society.  Among your ranks are many of our most notable citizens--achievers, heroes, and nation-builders, whose works and accomplishments, have been instrumental in shaping our nation.  Young long-standing traditions of brotherly love, relief, and truth have indeed helped, not only your members, but also the people who have benefitted from your civic projects and humanitarian programs.

You know for sure that your organization is really close to my heart.  My younger brother Benjamin, son Paolo, and son-in-law Manases Carpio are members of your fraternity.  I have much knowledge about how hard it is to become a Mason.  You have undergone several degrees of learning before earning your membership and eventually---a title.  And of course, I know how dedicated you are to the tenets and teaching of Freemasonry.

For the past years, the Grand Lodge of the Philippines has been a vital partner of the government in nation-building.

Its provision of educational assistance to deserving beneficiaries; its support to law enforcement agencies; its medical messions to depressed communities; and its emergency response to victims of natural calamities complement our government's effort to lessent the burden of our countrymen.

These undertakings would not have been successful without the solidarity and commitment of your members.  May you strengthen the Brotherhood of Man, which has been the cornerstone of your institution since the beginning.

I ask you to remain committed to this partnership as we pursue a real and lasting change for the Filipino people.  Indeed, change has come and I want you to be by our side as we sustain it and realize our dreams for our country.

Effective and efficient organization and leadership  also serve as the foundations of your fraternity.  The continuation of your 7-point agenda will help preserve the integrity of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines and maintain it as a unified and supreme Masonic authority in the succeeding years.

I also commend you for involving your family members---your wives and your children, in your fraternity.  Engaging them in various organizational affairs as well as in socio-civic and charitable activities will further strengthen your resolve to uphold morality, unity, progress, and true service.

The greater participation of your families in your work at the Grand Lodge of the Philippines leads you, including your loved ones, to the ultimate purpose of Freemasonry---to make you a better man.

May you continue to transform yourselves into better persons every single day--in thoughts, in speech; in manner; and in every helpful way.  Keep at heart your theme for this year and personify Freemasonry in all  your pursuits.

I urge you to develop the outstanding trait of impeccable integrity by which all Masons are known for: admired and emulated.  I need partners like you as we fight against the ills of society---illegal drugs, criminality, corruption and all forms of injustice that weaken our citizenry and hinder the growth of our nation.

Together, let us be exemplars of wisdom, dignity, and true service.  Let these ideals reflect in our deeds as we strengthen our capacity to serve the Filipino people and as we lead our country towards lasting peace and meaningful development.

Again, good afternoon and long live the Freemasons!
(signed)

"A ritual is a work of art, and like all works of art is valuable not merely for what it represents, but mainly for what it suggests to the mind.  This is true, whether the work be a poem, a painting, a piece of music, or statuary.  The material representation may be good, and the technique beyond criticism, but if no thought or feeling is suggested, but little value attaches, and we soon tire of them; but a  little picture of two poor peasants in a rough field, pausing in their work, with bowed heads, at the call of the bell in the little church beyond, tells the whole story of a life of toil, hardship and devotion.  Men do not tire of such pictures and the grand lessons taught by them." - R.W.B. Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting March 17, 2018 (By Dispensation)

Message from the East
Bro. KHALIQUZZAMAN M. MACABATO
Worshipful Master

Assalamu Alaykum!

Brethren, let me congratulate you for the overwhelming success of our Installation last February 17, 2018.  The success of our installation could not have been possible without your support.  The significant number of brethren who shared their precious time to us during that momentous event made the affair more memorable.  The noticeable presence of our Past Masters made the ceremony more meaningful.  Our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of you for the support you have extended for the success of that very important event.  I hope that your support will continue even beyond my term.

Our deepest thanks and gratitude to the installing team : VW Musa C. Saruang, PDGL, Installing Officer; VW Arassad M. Macumbal, PDGL, Master of Ceremonies;  and, VW Saidale S. Mohamad, PDGL, Assistant Master of Ceremonies.  Our profound thanks to VW Datumanong D. Sarangani, PDGL, for his delivery of the Ancient Charges.  Indeed, the ceremony went on smoothly and solemnly with the help of your eloquent and proficient performances.

We also thank the Amaranth and DeMolay for their active support in setting up the venue for the Fellowship and rendition of surprise number.

Our sincerest thanks and gratitude also goes to  all the visiting brethren who graced that memorable event.

Brethren, we had started this Masonic Year with high hopes that we can accomplish more in achieving the goals of our Lodge.  As I mentioned in my Inaugural Speech, that we will adopt all the traditional activities of our lodge but we need to reengineer and redesign the conduct of our activities to make it more attuned to the demand of the present time.

Freemasonry had evolved into a more open society.  Numerous changes and innovations were introduced in our Ancient Craft.  Hence, it is inevitable that our Lodge should take positive steps that will lead to our success in the light of the continuing changes in our fraternal order.

In consideration of these new developments, I now ask your support to actively participate in our Lodge activities.  We assure you, my brethren, that we will have vibrant activities; i.e., one that is responsive to the needs and benefits of Freemasonry in general and of the brethren of Iligan Lodge No. 207 in particular.

Togther, brethren, let us bond together to endeavor to live up to our Motto - "Harmony is the Strength of our Lodge".

Thank you and May the GAOTU bless us all!!

Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting June 17, 2017

Message From The East
WB Alykhan U. Ali
Worshipful Master

Brethren,
"Every self will taste death, you will be paid wages in full on the day of rising" Quran (3:185)

Brethren, definitely all of us will experience death and will travel to that undiscovered country from who's borne no traveler return.

Last May 29, 2017 at 9:30, VW Warlito M. Sanguila has dropped forever his working tools.  Words can not express our sadness, the loss of our mentor, our adviser, our secretary.  The lodge now is in grief and I personally fell lost but life must move on.  The lodge must go forward and continue the masonic teaching which VW Warly would want us to do.  May the comfort of the Great Architect of the Universe help us and the family through this difficult time.

Difficult time indeed, Martial Law was declared on our land last May 23, 2017 because of the terror attack at Marawi City and fighting is still going on.  Many of our brethren were affected by this crisis as a member of the Masonic Family and because of brotherly love, the four lodges of our district namely Iligan Lodge 207, Maranao Lodge 111, Mantical Lodge 243 and JVVR 259 with the help of VW Allan Buenaventura, VW Ian Uy, WB Cesar Miguel, WB Ivan Banaag, WB Pat Noel, Bro Aitor Gonzales, Bro John Sanguila and Bro Ted Bryan Yu have formed Lanao Masonic Relief Center.  The aim is to aid and assist all distress brothers who are affected by the crisis.  Our District Deputy Grand Master VW Omar Basha Lucman is actively and tirelessly helping to generate funds for this cause.

Due to this crisis in Marawi City and for security reason, we postponed our distribution of school supplies in Rogongon elementary (Grade 1) and hopefully we can come up for another activity in order to help the students in this far flung area.

I regret to say that I will not be able to attend  on our stated meeting this June 17, 2017.  I have to travel to Manila to attend to some duty matters.  Bro SW Khaliq Macabato will preside as Master during my absence.

This coming July activity we will confer the second degree of Masonry upon Bro Kent Garzon, and honor our Past Master.

Brethren, May the blessings of heaven rest upon us!

Bulletin and Summon of Regular Stated Meeting (By Dispensation) April 18, 2017

Message from the East

WB ALYKHAN UMPA ALI
Worshipful Master

Brethren

First of all, let me extend my heartfelt gratitude to all brethren who supported me in the joint installation of lodges in the City of Iligan.  The installation ceremony presided by VW Stephen T. Monterroyo, PDGL as the installing Master was very impressive, assisted by WB Lester R. Salazar and WB Pat D. Noel.  The installation was also meaningful to me with the presence of the Grand Master, MW Voltaire T. Gazmin.

This month begins the journey of presiding Iligan Lodge No. 207.  I might be the shortest Master who will sit in the East with a stint of only nine (9) months, with your support we will make a difference.  We are preparing a three year development program for the lodge to ensure continuity of our works.  We will present this plan next meeting.  I am hoping that we could make a foundation to bring Iligan Lodge No. 207 the jewel of the district.

This month is also the Grand Lodge Annual Communication, April 27 - 29 at Tagaytay City.  Five brethren from Iligan Lodge No. 207 is set to attend the said event.  We urge others who have the time on this important activity of the Grand Lodge.

I wish we could do our 2017 celebration of lodge formation 42 years ago this month. However, the activity needs preparation especially it's also the Past Masters month.  We decided to move this event to May 20, 2017 to enable us to have substantial preparation.  The Worshipful Master and brethren is looking forward for the Past Masters who are in Iligan City to attend this memorable day.

Brethren your presence in our monthly meeting is a joy to me.  Please join us for a pleasant evening with the other brethren of the district.

Our District MD RX & ARMM Lanao Provinces were occupied with activities last weekend.  We had a Testimonial Dinner in honor of MW Voltaire T. Gazmin, Grand Master of Masons in the Jurisdiction of the Philippines held in Elena Tower Inn on July 9.  A Testimonial Toast was given by VW Warlito M. Sanguila, PDDGM before the Grand Master delivered his message.  Earlier in the afternoon, VW V.T. Gazmin attended Maranaw Lodge No. 111's stated meeting, his Mother Lodge.  Significance of the meeting aside from the Grand Master's presence was the signing of the District Sisterhood between our District RX & ARMM Lanao Provinces represented by VW Alan U. Buenaventura our DDGM & MD RVII (Cebu, Bohol & Siquijor) represented by their DDGM, VW Douglas S. Tan.  There were at least 40 brethren from the sister district who attended.

The next day, July 10, was the District-wide Golf Tournament/Family Fellowship (Amateur/Novato) held in Golf & Country Club of Iligan, Inc., Pindugangan, Iligan City.  Our lodge were represented mostly by seasoned players & special mention to Bro. John Yasser T. Sanguila who played under the Novato level.  The 2-day activity were covered by no other than WB Pat D. Noel, our immediate Past Master who take-charge of the documentation.  Our Lodge was assigned to chair the Transportation Committee, thanks to the following who assisted me & provided not only their vehicles but also their time that somehow the task given to us was handled smoothly, they were from Maranaw Lodge No. 111, VW Alan U. Buenaventura, DDGM, Bro. Jerome C. Cañete, SW, Bro. Clealan A. Catipay, JD., & Bro. Aitor E. Gonzales.  VW Samuel "Tatay" Huertas of Mantical Lodge No. 243.  From our lodge were Bro. Alykhan U.
